I’m Kate House, and to understand why I feel so passionately about living a life of purpose, both on and off your yoga mat, you’ll need to learn a little about me!

Growing up there were two parents, four kids, a dog, and a menagerie of other pets in our home. It was a house full of fun and love, but it was hardly ever quiet. Around 12 years old I realized I needed some alone time, and with three younger siblings in the house and no driver’s license, I turned to going for a walk in our neighborhood for “me time.” I felt a little stronger each day, and soon those walks turned into runs and my lifelong love affair with running began.

I’ve been a runner ever since that first day I laced up my Adidas Sambas (not a choice footwear for running, btw) and learned how to move my body in rhythm with my breath. A decade later I learned the value of cross-training to support my running goals, and I started a yoga practice. Boy was I in for the best of surprises when I fell in love with yoga in its own right!


Like running, yoga allows me to work through the minutia in my mind until I can find a place of joy. I’ve always said, “I never feel worse after a run!” and the same is true of yoga too. I’m a better wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, coach, and teacher when I make myself a priority. You can’t pour from an empty vessel, after all.

After teaching yoga for a few years, I knew I wanted to create the opportunity to connect with others and support them in reaching their goals. Whether the goal is to be more active, eat well, or find gratitude in the day-to-day, I want to help make that happen. In 2017 I completed my health coaching training and here we are!
