Episode #16 – When Enough Was Enough Featuring Jamie Hill

Can you point to one moment in your life when you realized something needed to change? That in order to show up as the best version of yourself, something had to give? I personally know exactly what moment that was, and in this week’s episode my cousin and inspiration-extraordinaire Jamie shares what it looked like in her own life too.

Now almost two years after realizing enough was enough, she and her family are approaching financial freedom, they’ve purchased their forever home, and she’s transitioned from a traditional 9-5 to working her own business which she’s grown as a side hustle into a full-time career. Most of all, her hard work in every area of life has given her back the gift of time. Which, in my humble opinion, is the greatest currency we have.

So pour yourself a fresh cup of coffee and get ready to start off your new year energized and inspired by this wonderful woman I’m lucky enough call family.

When Enough Was Enough – A Conversation Featuring Jamie Hill

Meet Jamie

Two years ago, Jamie realized that something needed to change. She was tired constantly, and between working full-time, a full-time working spouse, and two kiddos under two, she felt like she couldn’t get ahead. Treading water is exhausting, and one day she decided she was tired of being tired.

So what did she do? She picked a date on the calendar, and when that day came along she committed to seeking health, learning how to eat, and losing weight so that she could have the energy to thrive. She started following a ketogenic lifestyle and soon started drinking ketones to help her along her journey.

Ten months and 55 pounds lost later and she’s a new woman. And it’s not just because she feels stronger in her body. It’s because during this time she underwent a wholesale lifestyle shift.

There’s an expression that a rising tide lifts all boats, and that was what Jamie experienced in her own personal life. Once her physical health was made a priority and trending in a healthy direction, she started pouring into her mindset and surrounded herself with people and books who taught her about growth and abundance mindsets. Next she and her husband took a hard look at their financial situation, committed to Dave Ramsey’s Baby Steps (which you know I love and have an entire episode about already –give a listen here!), and have since paid off multiple tens of thousands worth of debt and will be completely debt free by the end of 2021.

And to top it all off, she’s leaned into her “side hustle,” turned it into her own personal business, and within days of this episode being published will have left corporate America to be her own boss. Can you say, “wow!”

Jamie’s one of the most determined, dedicated, and inspiring people I know, and if her energy and enthusiasm for life doesn’t inspire you as 2021 dawns and you look ahead to the new year, I don’t know what will. So sit back, press play, and let Jamie pour some light, love, and renewed energy and focus straight into your heart.

I’m thrilled to share with you a Special Podcast Series in 2021 based on The Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s Circle of Life Exercise. I use this tool at least twice a year to take stock of how I’m feeling and to get a good sense of the areas of my life that might need a little more care and attention. Each week I’ll speak on one of the twelve Circle of Life topics, and then I’ll follow it up the next week with an interview featuring someone in my personal life who excels at that specifically.
