Have you had feelings of loneliness and anxiety? Have you ever felt lonely even though you aren’t alone? And on top of that, layer on a pandemic and it feels even harder to connect with others in this current season of life.
Which is why I’m excited to chat with Jaymee Davis from The Genuine Mom Club Podcast about this week’s theme: Social Life. The Genuine Mom is all about unlearning the idea that we need to have it all together all the time. The truth is, we need to be real and share the good and the bad. And that’s the mission of The Genuine Mom!
This is why Jaymee is the perfect guest to chat with regarding feelings of loneliness and anxiety, how they’ve impacted her life, and what she does to feel more connected to herself, her family, and a sense of community.
So friends, grab a warm blanket and settle in as Jaymee and I talk about finding connections in motherhood, and as a bonus we’ve also included what we do for our own personal self-care. And our tips might be a little different than what you are used to hearing because it’s not all about bubble baths and face masks, so stay tuned to hear what works best for us!
*If you have mental health concerns and are in need of professional support and guidance please reach out to a trained health professional. If you don’t know where to start when finding a mental health professional, this Mayo Clinic article is a valuable resource.
Be sure to tune into my guest episode on Jaymee’s podcast, The Genuine Mom Club Podcast, where I discuss how you cultivate joy and practice gratitude all while showing up as a present parent plus chasing your dreams at the same time. You can find my episode on Jaymee’s podcast Finding Myself on the Motherhood Journey here.
And speaking of self-care, I have an opening in my health coaching schedule! I’m looking to partner with a woman who is ready to invest time and energy in herself again. So if you are reading this and you’re sick and tired of feeling sick and tired, then let’s hop on a free 50 minute discovery call where I can learn about your health and wellness history and then identify two-three areas in your life where we would focus our time and attention during our coaching sessions. You can find more details about my coaching program here.

Joyful Corner
This week I’m grateful that I have given myself grace to make decisions, stick with it for a time, and then reassess and change my mind if needed. I recently brought my boys home from preschool for the winter months after we went through several bouts of illness in our home (think flu a and b – because we’re over-achievers like that! – and every other cold imaginable) and we’re giving homeschooling a go.
I’m grateful to have this together time with them again, because we really missed each other while they were at school. And in deciding to spend my days with the boys – I realized I needed support for the podcast and have brought on Liz Chapman as my podcast manager (can you say, woohoo?!). I’m so excited to have her onboard to help me with the production of the Live By Design Podcast and with her support, guidance, and expertise I’m looking forward to growing our podcast community as we head into season 3!
