“You’re okay. Everything’s okay. You’re here. You’re fine.”

Today, I’m joined by Jeri-Ashley of @jerithemindfulmama. Jeri-Ashely is a friend whom I met when I was searching through Peloton hashtags to connect with fellow Peloton-riding mamas! Jeri-Ashely and I immediately connected, and we’ve so til this day. I appreciate how she keeps in real on IG while sharing what the day-to-day of motherhood really looks like.

Recently, there was a post that Jeri-Ashely shared that I just knew would be a perfect conversation to share on the podcast. In her post she talked about what she does to drown out the noise of the world. “As someone who overthinks, over analyzes, and can get overwhelmed very quickly, drowning out the noise is something I’ve been actively working on for years.”

Jeri-Ashley goes on to share that meditation, breath work, affirmations, and unplugging have helped her get in touch with herself.

And you won’t want to miss when Jeri-Ashley shares a very personal, impactful story with us and how the use of a mantra helped during an incredibly pivotal time in her life.

If you are ready to use affirmations to affirm yourself press play and listen in on my conversation with Jeri-Ashely.

Kate’s Joyful Corner

If you know me then you know I’m a huge reader! Part of my morning routine is to snuggle on the couch with the boys while they watch cartoons and I get 20-30 minutes to read a book. You will usually find one toddler on my lap and the other next to me while I drink my coffee and read. I love this routine and it’s a fun, slow start to our mornings.

So, this week I’m grateful for a book and its author, and that book is Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. I read it back in 2017, and I remember having a lot of takeaways from it. It’s all about creative living beyond fear. I’ve been doing a lot of work on myself through reading, meditation, journaling, and working with coaches to really push myself outside of my comfort zone, and this book really spoke to me in this season of life (and growth!).

Creating the podcast, hosting the LBD Collective, and updating my website are all things that have pushed me outside of my comfort zone into a kind of fearful place. However, I want to live from a place of love and not a place of fear. Which was why it felt like a great time to re-read Big Magic.

I’m also a big fan of taking cues from the universe, and I was working with one of my one-on-one health coaching clients and she mentioned she was getting ready to re-read Big Magic as well. And while I was already going to read the book again, hearing my client say she was also going to read it again felt like the universe telling me that now was the right time for it.

So, this week I’m grateful for those hours in the mornings on the couch with the boys and spending time with Elizabeth reading her book Big Magic.
