Today I’m diving into one of my favorite books, Atomic Habits by James Clear! I have a ridiculous amount of takeaways from this book – the whole thing is underlined, dog-eared, and annotated…my grandma (who reveres books!) would be a little aghast at how marked up this book is, but I think it’s just a testament to how much I’ve learned! 😉
One of my favorite takeaways from Atomic Habits is the Goldilocks Rule, which tells us that humans experience peak motivation when working on tasks that are right on the edge of our current abilities. So it’s not too easy, not too hard, but just right (just like Goldilocks!).
So if you have found yourself:
🌟 lacking motivation
🌟 feeling stuck in pursuit of your goals
🌟 losing steam
🌟 having a hard time showing up for yourself
…then today’s episode was recorded just for you, friend. I found James’ insights to be super encouraging, inspiring, and most importantly, actionable. So tune in today if you too are ready to pursue goals of just manageable difficulty in order to create and sustain motivation!
The Live By Design Collective
It’s easy to fall into the rinse and repeat rhythm of life: parenting, work, caregiving, errands, and to-dos always seem to take the front seat while your self-care, creativity, and passions ride in the back.
And guess what, friend? You’re the only one who can change this. You get to decide to live by design, not by default.
The LBD Collective is your hype girl community, sacred sisterhood, and health coach in your back pocket – it’s 2 hours monthly of me-time to help you turn your spark back on.
So if you loved this episode – if it made you feel seen, heard, or included – then the LBD Collective is your place to keep the conversation going, and we want you part of it.

Kate’s Joyful Corner
Anyone else ever marvel at our ability as humans to hold opposing emotions at the same time?
I’m currently in a heavy, challenging season of life with a very sick family member in the ICU, but even amidst that I find I can hold joy and gratitude in my heart.
I’m so grateful for those of you who have reached out to me via instagram, popped into my email inbox, and friends and family who have called and texted during this time. I feel the love and support showered over me and it literally means the world to me.
So, this week I’m grateful for being on this journey of growth and discovery and allowing myself to be vulnerable and allow others to love me and care for me.
