“What I found is when I took the energy that I used to put into obsessing about food, how I looked and my body, and trying to make it something that it just honestly wasn’t, when I freed that energy up, life started happening.”
Today, registered dietician, sports nutritionist, and intuitive eating mentor, and host of The Fuel Her Awesome Podcast, Jessika Brown, joins me on the podcast to chat all things body love!
Jessika opens up and shares with us her experience of disordered eating in college, and how she decided to break up with diet culture and body bullying for good. Jessika now uses her fast knowledge of science-based nutrition to help herself and others find confidence, food freedom, and body empowerment!
So if you’re ready to live free in your own body and learn Jessika’s three-step system for beating the body bully, then pop in those ear buds, press play, and let us be the voice of two friends in your ear!
“When we’re talking about things like body image, loving your body, and taking care of your body, one of the #1 things to practice is being present and enjoying the moment.”
Have you joined The Live By Design Co Club?
Here’s what one of our Club Members has to say about her experience so far!
“I’m thrilled to be part of the LBD Co Club! In a world where we often can feel judged, lonely, and stuck – I want to surround myself with strong people who raise each other up, find the everyday joys, and be the best version of myself even on hard days.”
Ready to live 2022 with intention? Then The Live By Design Co Club was made just for you!
Meet Jessika
Hi, I’m Jess! I’m a mom, wife, boss, and am super passionate about health.
As a Registered Dietitian (RD) I have been working in the health industry for the last 13 years. I run a medical nutrition therapy clinic and am an adjunct professor for nutrition at the University of New Mexico. I have certifications in Eating Disorders (CEDRD) and Sports Dietetics (CSSD). I have been trained as a Certified Wellness Coach and American Council on Exercise Group Fitness Instructor. And my passion project is hosting the Fuel Her Awesome Podcast.
One of my passions is public speaking and I have done so in several settings including speaking at corporate events, the New Mexico Dietetic Association Annual Conference, and TedxABQ Main Event. Check out my TEDx talk- “A Healthy Cause to Find a Healthy You.”
Spending so much time in the world of nutrition, mixed with a history of an eating disorder and the reality of being a mama to the stereotypical “mac and cheese and chicken nugget” kids – I have grown into a relationship with food and my body that is somewhere between intention and grace, discipline with sprinkles of flexibility. It is such an honor to be alongside others as they walk this journey. When I am not working you will likely find her somewhere in the mountains with my family and a cup of coffee in hand.

Kate’s Joyful Corner
I am beyond excited for this week’s joyful corner! I’ve hired my very first spiritual Business coach, Amelia Travis!
I am very excited to lean on her for wisdom, insight, guidance, and accountability as I really lean into growing my company this year. It’s so important to me that The Live by Design Podcast and The Live By Design Co Club always feels joyful and fun, and to protect that joy I needed someone whose brilliance is being a business expert.
This fills me with excited, nervous energy! I always feel like anything that is outside your comfort zone helps you grow while giving you those butterflies all at the same time!
So this week I’m just really really joyful for this opportunity and grateful and excited to see where it goes.
